Nikon 20mm F1.8G for astro

I'm just getting into astro photography and have started out with the Samyang 14mm F2.8. Whilst it's great for collecting light I'm not really happy with the distortion, difficult to correct, and I find the manual infinity focus a bit hit and miss.

The 20mm F1.8G looks to have great potential, plus will double up nicely for my landscapes, might even replace the 16-35F4 as I already have the 24-120F4 which I'm really pleased with. Just a couple of questions for owners...

- How easy is it to find infinity when using manual focus?
- Has anyone actually noticed the "onion rings" effect in real world shots?

Thanks

Simon
