Hi all im not a lover of tele's but im thinking of getting one of these to go with my 35mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8 18-70mm dx and sigma 105mm macro, just as they are cheap as chips.

So do you own one and is it worth getting one?

Scientific test figures are not everything and whilst some of the DXOmark results put the lens at the "Poor" end of the scale we don't really know what "Poor" is. Possibly could be technically poor, but still acceptably sharp to the human eye. Best thing is if you can get seeing some actual results. At least at that price you are not going have sunk a lot of dosh into it if it disappoints.

Yep not bad at that price. Give it a go.

Here you are - first shot that popped up for me with this lens. Straight out of camera, sharpening set to normal.

1/100th, ISO280, 145mm, f5 (wide open).

If I can get that with a "poor" lens for it's sharpness, I've love to own a 70-200mm VR2 :)
