Hi guys,

This is actually a question from a friend. I googled it but found the answers confusing. Do the modern fx lenses and l lenses for nikon and canon work on their older 35mm bodies. Or could you tell me which specific good old film camera bodies are there for either that take the modern lenses. Also, very important, the old cameras don't need autofocus. I mean, it is possible to focus manually with a modern autofocus lens. That's not important. And the aperture number doesn't need to be 'read' either. So we are talking about the lens simply fitting to the body and working.

Thanks

With Nikon you need to be looking at the F mount which is basically any lens/camera since 1959 - they all physically fit together and work (with greater and lesser functionality) although if you use modern DX lenses you will of course get vignetting.

With Canon it is basically the same except modern DX lenses (EFS?) won't physically fit.
