Nikon Camera Control 2 and Nikon D300 problems

I'm in some need of some help.

I would like to do some tethered shots as it will enable me to check rig shots properly as I shoot them and I need to sort it for Wednesday!

I downloaded CCP2 this morning, plugged in my D300 after changing the mode to MTP/PTP USB mode.

My computer recognises the camera, but CCP2 doesn't.

I'm totally stumped - any ideas?

Thanks

nope, I had the same problem :/ just won't ever work, on either of 2 computers and 2 D300's....

I used to use the DIY photobits tether software, looks crap and isn't the most stable of things, but worked pretty reliably for me for events.

Lightroom 3 now (finally) has built in tether support :)

Lightroom 3 might be your answer, but apart from that I had problems with my Canon 5D, i know you are using Nikon but could be a similar solution to me.

I found that I had to install a codec or update type thing from Canon's website, so maybe have a loo at nikons website to see if there's an update for it to work with that camera?

I was amazed too, but just couldn't get it to work, at all :/ and it's not like I'm not some novice computer user either :s just refused to work.

photobits program works, simpler than the nikon one too :)

I may be totally incorrect but I have just upgraded to Lightroom 3 and the help file for tethering appears to only support certain Canon cameras.
Anyone know any different then I would appreciate knowing.
Mick
