Nikon Cash back - 14 24mm, 24 70mm and 16 35mm

Nikon are offering Cash backs - OK they come on a pre paid Visa Card that you have to spend, (but can be on anything I believe - petrol, Tesco)

UK prices from Nikon dealers are;

14 24mm f2.8 is about £1,150
24 70 f2.8 about £1,060
16 35mm about £829

All delivered

Not much point in buying from the "greys" whilst this offer is on

anyone see any problems with these Cash Back Visa cards?

Unless the gray is cheaper of course, bear in mind that unlike camera bodies ALL NIKON GLASS is covered by an international warranty so no issues what so ever in buying gray and getting full service and warranty repair direct from Nikon, you do of course need to supply a purchase reciept

Hi Gary

I think that the grey imports are between £50 and £100 cheaper max

but for some who worry about Grey - this is a very good option

It is either a Nikon response or they are about to replace/upgrade the non VR zooms

Keep in mind that citibank (the ones who issue the cashback cards) take an "account maintenance fee" of 2 pounds (sorry, on the husbands macbook with a US keyboard, can't find the pound sign lol). This happens if the card isn't used for 6 months after it's been sent to you, and they will take the 2pounds every month that there isn't a transaction.

So if you start off with 100pounds in January say, and don't use it by June, you'll only have 98pounds, then 96, etc etc until you actually spend something with the card, then the whole cycle starts again, but they only allow you 3 months this time, not the 6 they initially allowed you.

This is an absolute sod as there is nothing we can find in the bumf that we had with our cards to say this.

So if you plan on keeping it aside to save up for something bear this in mind... You'll have less money on the card than you think so make sure you check the balance before going to the shop and feeling like a tit because it's declined :oops: :$

But yes, you can use them to pay for anything, anywhere that accepts Visa.

yes you are correct Chris I made a mistake .......but it is £829 at Wex and £785 with Hdew, a grey importers ....... so not much different there and it would maybe support the case that Hdew are paying VAT

I was just comparing prices and put the 16 35mm f4 VR in there by mistake

Hey no problem. if you pay BACS to Panamoz it's just under £720.
