Nikon Coolpix S9700 wifi to Ipad using Nikon WMU

I have just bought a Nikon Coolpix S9700, and am trying to connect to my Ipad using 'Nikon WMU' and not having much uccess, it connected straight away to my Sony Xperia phone, but will not reckognise my Ipad. The Ipad sees the Nikon coolpix in 'settings', 'wifi'. Can any one help?
