Nikon D3000 - What Lens For Auto Focus

Hi All,

With my eye sight being a bit pants and all I kind of rely heavily on auto focus.

Now I am trying to get back into my photography I have bought myself a D3000 and I am looking at what glass is available for it.

Can any one please tell me what I should be looking out for name wise that will tell me whether a lens will auto focus or the D3000 or not.

Also what do I look out for name wise on third party lens such as Sigma and Tamron

in Nikon it needs to say AF-s or AF-I (not common). In Sigma you're looking at HSM. I forget Tamron and Tokina.

enter your camera and what type of lens you want
it will show you a list of lenses, on the top there are more filters, select Any for focus motor.

basically these entry level cameras need lenses to have built-in focus motor. as above said, Nikon's common ones are AF-s.
 
I think Tamron use 'Di' to signify an internal motor, though somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

There are very few Tokina's that'll work but I think the 12-24 MK2 has an internal motor.
