Nikon D60, any good?

Hi, I have the chance to get a D60 body, battery and charger for around £75, does anyone know if its worth that price? I already have lenses to use on it and was thinking it might be good to have a second body to maybe take on holidays etc as I would never take my D7000 in case something happened to it.
 
Well, everything is much worse than the D7000, obviously.

If you want to use non AF-S lenses, I would pass and go for a D90, possibly a D80, because they wont autofocus on a D60.

The price requested is ok though if it is in great condition, but the handling alone will make you want to have something else, unless you mostly shoot auto modes.
 
Ok thank you for the advice, I will probably pass on it then. I wouldn't go for a D90 because i wouldn't get one of those £75 and so that again would be too expensive to take on holiday for me, pretty much like my D7000. I thought it sounded a good deal but having never used one I thought it best to ask advice first.
 
Well I would disagree. I had one with a 35 f1.8 attached and used it solely for holidays. It took up next to no room and was ideal.

For £75 I would go for it. Obviously depends on what lenses you have though.
 
I too had a D60 for my very first camera and other than functionality it's big let down was noise at any ISO over 200. If it's gonna be holiday snaps then low light photos may not be in demand.

As above, stick the cheap but excellent 35mm 1.8 on it and its a very lightweight and capable set up in good light.
 
I have used a D80 but not a D60 and I was expecting the D60's high ISO performance to be as poor as the D80's. I looked it up on the DXO website and they rate the D60's ISO performance as just behind the D300 and beter than the D80, so may be worth a punt.
