I am getting a Nikon AF-S 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED DX lens to use with my Nikon D90. Can I use this lens on my Nikon F75 film camera?

Cheers

OK, thanks for that. Does that mean all DX lenses will suffer the same fate?

Yes it does, as DX lenses only produce an image circle big enough to cover the crop sensor, which is smaller than the exposed 35mm film.

The only exception that I've found is the ultra wide DX lenses, eg, Tokina 11-16 or Sigma 10-20.

They are fine if you don't go wider than about 14mm.

I use my Tokina on my F80 at 16mm quite a lot.

Ok, thanks for the info. Will have to stick with the lens it came with then. Not that I use it very often though.

The 35mm f1.8 DX is supposed to be usable on FF with very minor vignetting, But as it's cheaper to get an optically superior 35mm f2 for Full frame I don't know why anyone would really want to bother.

I used to use my Tokina 11-16mm on my F100 too, looks funky at 11mm!
