Yes
Am I correct in thinking AF-S lenses will work without issue on ncameras with a focus motor in the body (D300s)? I seem to remember someone saying the AF-S lens motor overrides the body motor - is this true and is there any advantage/disadvantage?
Am asking due to upgrading from non motor body to one with motor built in.

Yes they work absolutely fine

Yep, have heard they can work faster and quieter too . . . compared to the old style screw focus equivalent . . . ? Only what I have heard, not an opinion:shrug: Probably varies from manufacturere to manufacturer and model to model . . . there, thats covered my back . . .

AF-S lenses have no mechanical link to the in-body motor so it makes no difference whether there's one or not.

Getting a body with an in-body motor has the obvious advantage of allowing auto-focus on the large number of older lenses, which can be cheaper.
