Nikon: lens list for crop/fullframe

I've probably missed an obvious thread or link, but was wondering if anyone had a nice simple list of all Nikon-fit lenses and whether they can only be used on FF, crop or both?

I've got a D90 and thinking about getting a D700... just want to know which of my current lenses I have to sell, etc.

Looking at your list of current lenses all of your current Nikon lenses will work on a D700 - in crop mode at 5mp. Not sure about the Tamron or Sigma though.

To be honest, even if you are happy using the glass you have, I'd question the sense in spending the guts of two grand on a camera body and then using low-end glass on it - it's like buying a new Porsche and fitting it with a set of £40 PingPongYang tyres....

i have a feeling the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 I have will work fullframe... and that's the lens i use the most and am pretty happy with it.

i'm just exploring the options really... i'd also love to get a 70-200 f2.8, not sure i could afford the nikon, so would go for a sigma/tamron i think.

You're welcome ... I suspect a visit to the Sigma and Tamron website would answer your question, I am not familiar with their designations sorry

The quick way to tell a full frame lens from one designed for a crop sensor is look at the rear element - on DX lenses they are just big enough to cover the small sensor, whereas on lenses designed for full frame it is much larger.
