Sure this will have been mentioned but searching earlier for tethered shooting I have found some free software

Seems to do everything you need, going to give it a try when I get home to see how it performs (only USB connected for the time being, until I go down the wireless route)
Seems its only for Nikon users, not sure if it will change but thought I would pass it on, reviews seem to be good
