Yes
Hi, I subscribed to Photoplus-Canon edition but now I'm switching to Nikon is there a specialised Nikon magazine? can't see one out there

anything for the mere mortals out there to rival photoplus Canon edition?
(I'm amazed there doesnt seem to be one)

The reason there isn't a Nikon one on general public sale, is because, as Nikon owners, we don't care about the brand. Photographic theory is universal regardless of what camera you use. :)

Grays of Westminster advertise one but it's not cheap.

I'll go with that...

I thought there was Nikon User...a subscription only magazine. Has it folded?

That's the grays of westminster one - gives an extra year warranty on new and 6 months on secondhand gear as well

I dont care about the brand either however, a mag that talks Nikon camera settings and styles only would be helpful unless you fully understand the jargon that Canon/Pentax/Fuji/Sony all use, I hope you see where I'm coming from, its not just photographic theory its Camera specific I was interested in as per photoplus canon edition.

Nope - that's it.
And it's not just for Pros...

according to signing up I have to have purchased professional equipment and as the majority of amateurs wont have pro gear then its aimed/geared/designed/targetted at pro's but your correct, I could sign up, if I had more money than sense.

If you need camera specific, the manual is the best place to go, or youtube videos. Personally, I'd rather not buy a magazine that wastes half of its pages telling you how to change settings on 20 bodies I don't own - especially if they're things I already know how to do on the Nikon bodies I do own.

I wouldnt worry, the last couple of issues I recieved have been very "meh"

sadly fellas, his 'joke' isnt far off, I was soooo dissapointed when I got my entry 450D with the IQ but Canonites all insisted my settings must be wrong- they werent great but even on auto they were worse than a P&S, really hoping the Nikon D90 will be a breath of fresh air.

Thanks again to all who contributed:thumbs:

Most camera mags focus (no pun intended) on Nikon and Canon anyway when showing changing settings on camera.

The lowest entry level in the D200 + a named lens/flash here. The Nikon mag is very good quality, both in materials and images, though there is not much content. Nice to have for nothing if you qualify though. ;)

I've never seen the Nikon Owner Magazine, and at £59 per year, I doubt I ever will.
