I have the D300 version of this Nikon copy remote. It works exactly the same as the nikon one including not having an on/off switch.
 
Got this but for Canon instead. Can't imagine what the official remote could offer over this one. As strax has said though, it can't be switched off, but that's not a problem. Think of it like a watch.
 
Thats great guys. Ive already ordered it and have used the seller before but god knows when it'll turn up judging by how long i've waited for a few other items bought off the web. When you guys say it doesnt turn off do you mean even when you unplug it from the camera?

The screen is constantly on displaying whatever settings you programmed in. This is seriously not a problem though, mines been going strong for over 4 months now. If you're that bothered you can always remove the watch battery after every use but it's not worth the effort.

Ok mate, thats helpful. I cant believe it but its already arrived which is amazing considering the post fiasco in the North East. It looks great but i will have to wait till tomorrow to use it.
