Nikon: Non CPU lens query (Zeiss)

are non cpu lens' much of a pain? Ive an opportunity to get a Zeiss 21mm 2.8 ZFT*, the non cpu version. I realise i can set up the lens details in a nikon menu somewhere but does that affect metering at all? Will the camera still give me an accurate exposure reading?

its either this or the 16-35 f4 at the moment but you cant seem to get them for love nor money right now.

If it is the same as my dear departed 50mm ZF (non-cpu on Fuji S5 Pro) it will meter and pass aperture info to the exif but you will control the aperture on the lens rather than via the camera. The exposure was accurate on my body lens combo.
