Nikon owners, i need your help...lens & body confusion :(

Hi guys, a friend of mine is starting to get into the expensive and frustrating hobby of potography.
at the moment she has a Nikon F55 SLR and a Nikon 28-100 & 70-300 AF G lens.
What DSLR body can she buy to use her current lenses?

ok, have done a lengthy search and it seems that to utilise her lenses she would have to purchase one of these:
D50, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300, D700, D3, D2H, D2Hs, D2X, D2Xs, D1X, D1H and D1 Cameras.
can anyone confirm and give any opinions on them?
 
They are all good cameras. It depends on use/budget etc.
 
Chris, if you can borrow the lenses I can pop them on my D300 and see how they go. I think the ones that won't work are the D40, D40x and D60.
 
Yeah any of the cameras you've mentioned will work with those lenses as the camera body itself has a motor unlike the d60/40 etc

your choice would be dependant on budget primarily but d70/s bodies are worthwhile and quite cheap at the moment if you're looking for a budget starting point
 
its not for me, and she hasnt really said her budget, i would imagine a d50 as a start point?
 
D50 is a great camera,I use one the now and its pretty good for the money.
Seem to hold there value too.
You wont be disapponited if you go for one.
