Yes
Just got this as a gift from a relative. My question is whether it will work on the D90. I've never used a flash other than the built-ins that come with P&S before. Can I use it like how the pros use theirs when they hold it in their hands and fire it off? Do I need accessories? Thanks.

There should a compatability guide in your manual, you need to look from the D90 perspective as it's the more recent of the two. In the meantime Thom Hogan says.

You would need to check the voltage before using it on your camera's hotshoe, as some older flashguns can kill digital cameras.

The SB-15 could certainly be used off-camera, either by connecting it to the hotshoe with a compatible cable (same caveat as above applies) or by using something like the "Cactus" wireless triggers (both options around £20), however as the flash only has one power level and won't work with the CLS system on your D90, it's questionable whether it's really worth bothering with.

Thanks. If it's dangerous with newer cameras, you're right - might as well spend a few bucks more and get a new unit. Still might keep it around though. Never know...

Always handy to have, I've got a similar Canon one somewhere. Haven't figured out a use for it as of yet, but I will
