With a bit of sun today managed to put the new 2xVIII through its paces. This one is 1/80" @ f11 on the D300 iso200 @ 900mm FX Eqv. This is a crop of about 1/2 the image. Quite pleased overall with the detail it's holding, although I may have over sharpened it a tad.

looks ruddy good andrew, what lens and what was the af like with the tc.

Same question as scott asked. What lens was you using? thanks, sorry just did a few sums I'm guessing the 300mm but which one?

300mm F2.8 AF-S II (not VR). Auto focus speed seems pretty much unaffected, which is nice.

Very good Andrew. I've raved about this converter since it came out. Love it. I use mine regularly on my 300mm 2.8vr.
You'll find that you will use it more and more. It's a tad expensive, but certainly comes up with the goods.
