I have decided that in the new year I am going to send my D7000 for a service / repair under warranty. I have cleaned the sensor correctly using sensor swabs and eclipse fluid 4 times since owning the camera, it has approx 2500 shutter actuations on it. I am still getting the oily sensor problem and feel it should be addressed by them along with a general focus check.

Is this the best centre to send it too?

From your own personal experiences how long does it take for them to process and repair items?

Thats the place, although there are other authorised Nikon repair centres.

As for time factor I'm not sure as I'm an NPS member, so anything I have sent is turned around quick.

I'm sure someone else will have an answer about that.
 
Personally, I have found them to be very slow. Just got a TC back today which only needed minor repairs, having accepted estimate 2 weeks ago. Similar experience earlier in the year. I have used Lehmanns in Stoke (approved Nikon dealer), and find that they are much quicker and communicate better.
 
I had a D200 focus adjustment made at Kingston, took about a week from memory - again that was before I was an NPS member.
 
Thanks for replies, have seen lehmanns website and also had contact with a guy called Gary who has sent me an email claim form for warranty works. Think the Stoke option maybe the best as I can get to them myself in about and hour or so. Will wait till new year and take a drive up I think, can explain my issues face to face then.
