Nikons my picturetown or flickr?

Has anyone signed up to Nikons photo sharing site `mypicturetown.com` what do you think of it?

I notice they are allowing 2gb free use now but you can increase it to gold level however they are not saying how much they`ll charge for this in the future.

Is Flickr regarded as the best out there at the moment for sharing and hosting images? Best value for money??

After reading your post i signed up to see what it was like. Not that impressed so far, its a bit slow and looks a little boring. I haven't got right into it yet though so I'll have a proper look when I have more time.

It's certainly a candidate for the best VFM as it's free. Yes, you can upgrade to Pro for which you have to pay real money, but you don't need to.

As for the first part of the question, I can't think of anything that does sharing and hosting better than flickr. There's a couple that come close but they have a more specific target market and as such don't appeal to quite the same audience.

It's worth upgrading to a pro Flickr account IMHO. £20 a year gives you unlimted uploads, unlimited bandwith and an unlimited number of photos on your account. If you don't pay, you get 100mb a month uploads, limited bandwith and you can only have 200 photos on your account at any time.
