Ok, this is just an idea at the moment but i'm looking for a decent location within
about 30 - 40 mile of Bolton.

A not used very often, longish, straight road with little on either side, ie no walls,
trees or buildings, and not single track. Failing that a large area of concrete or tarmac
that we can get to. Something like Burtonwood air base would have been ideal before they
built on it...

It will be to get a couple of old hot rods, a couple of models and try out a few ideas
that i have floating about in the grey matter. I can pretty much get the cars and the
girls i just need the right place and try to put them all together...

Cheers for any suggestions...

how about the access road upto Rivington Pike Mast?
You mean George lane?, to be honest that was the only one i could think of
and would probably have to do if there's nothing better around..

Theres this road from Abbey Village to Belmont A675, 1.4 miles no wall as I can remember and open moorland to each side
Belmont road in places would be ideal but it is pretty busy and i'm likely to
get a couple of Hayabusa's up the jacksy if i'm lay in the middle of the road ...

Great idea, wanna come and lie in the middle with me ? ... :p

Cheers for the suggestions guys

If you want long, straight and remote, try Keasden Road, near Stocks reservoir in the Trough of Bowland. From the top of Bowland Knotts, the road descends about 5 miles to Keasden, near Bentham, not a tree, wall or house in sight. As for traffic..... the occasional cyclist tractor or sheep !!

If your interested,PM me and I,ll give you accurate directions.

Ahhh, at 4am it would be deserted. I'm not sure i could convince the guys with the cars
to get there for that kind of time, although theres no harm in asking... from a distance...

Nice van btw, nice size, wouldn't mind one that size when the daughter stops coming with us..

Cheers guys

There are some lovely straight roads/tracks in Gisburn Forest, at the time you are planning, should be empty too. The Causeway is very photogenic! (some open views too!)

Anyone got a Canon 70-200mm f4 L they want to sell me?

Only an idea but what about the road that splits Anglesark

What about Holmfirth road the A635 between Oldham and Holmfirth, I remember driving it a year or so ago, just open fields either side pretty scenic and I don't think there was that much traffic on there either.

Just be careful on here as it is known death road for nutters with fast cars and bikes.
