Not printing the date on photos

I've lent my Dad my old Canon 350D, and he's trying to perform direct printing from it, to one of those 6x4 sublimation printers (Selphy). However, it adds the photo date in the bottom corner of each print which is annoying.

From the printer settings option in the camera, the Date feature is disabled and that's the only reference to it I can see.

Any ideas what else can be done to switch this off?

I'm going to check the firmware later in case that is out of date and sorts it...

Looking at my Selphy 710 printer manual (useful book...), it seems that the date printing is a feature of the printer rather than controlled by the camera. The Selphy 510 doesn't appear to have the same feature.

TBH, most of the time, I print from the memory card (again, not supported by the 510) but I have printed direct from the camera and through a computer.
