Of these 3 wide angle lenses, which should I get?

Hi guys, hope you can offer your advice on something.

I'm looking to get a budget, wide angle lens for my Canon 1000D. I'm just a hobby photographer, so not looking for anything too grand. I'm not an expert on these things, but after a few days of research I've narrowed my choice down to 3 lenses.

SIGMA 10-20mm f4-5.6 (£300)

Tamron SP 10-24mm (£300)

SIGMA 15-30mm f3.5-4.5 (£225)

I was wondering which one you consider best performance wise and value for money wise.

I'm not really looking to shoot buildings/landscape..etc, but rather interesting everyday shots of people, pets, that kinda thing. :D

Another one to think about is the Tokina 12-24 f/4.0, Kerso is doing them for £285 plus postage.
 
I have just looked at a lot of good reviews about the Tokina 12-24 f/4.0,i was really impressed.:)
 
Another vote for the Tokina 12-24 it is generally sharper with less significant distortion than the other 3. The Tokina 11-16 is also very good although about 1/3 more expensive if brought used.
 
The Sigma 15-30mm might be a perfectly nice lens but IMVHO it doesn't make a lot of sense on APS-C as you might as well get a 17-50mm unless you have a film body that you want to use it on too and for that reason, if there's no full frame body in the picture, I'd go for one of the other lenses.

Looks like it's a close one between Tokina 12-24 and the Sigma 10-20.

The Tokina one is sharper you say? That would sway it for me, if that really is the case.

Also, the prices I'd mentioned in my first post are all second hand/used prices. If I can get the Tokina one, new, for around £300 then that's great.

PM kerso, thats the price quoted on his latest list. Im thinking about getting rid of my 85mm for a Tokina 12-24 as i want a wide angle again. Id love the 11-16 but cant really justify the extra it costs.
 
I've had both the Siggie 10-20 & the Tokina 12-24 f4 - my preference was with the Tokina f4 - althou it was attached to a Nikon body...

If I was to go for another WA len'sthen it would be for the Tokina...
 
I believe the difference between 10 and 12 mm is quite a bit at that focal length and the Minimum Focus Distance can also be an issue depending on what kind of UWA shot you are aiming for...i.e. exaggerated distortsions.

The MFD's are Sigma 24cm , Tokina 30cm

To see if thats gonna be an issue, I found this site comparing that Canon 10-22 vs the Tokina 11-16 for the Minimum Focus Distances which are equivelent Canon and Sigma (24cm) Tokinas (30cm). You can also see if 1mm makes a big enough difference between these lenses and consider if the 2mm less width on the Tokina 12-24 is acceptable.
