Official Sony A77 Advert

Looks awesome, i wonder how are Nikon and Canon going to top that :D
 
Sony have made a fantastic camera here (12fps lovely, not sure on EVFs), interesting to see what Nikon/Canon come up with.
 
Yes this does look a great bit of kit but they dont apear to have long fast prime lenses other than the 300 f2.8 and its at a silly price .

The 300mm prime is about the same price as the nikon f2.8 new. They have a choice of 2 but one is £2k and the other is £4k so not exactly cheap either!

Think you can get a minolta 300mm f4 for more reasonable money second hand.

Cheap as chips compared to this canon 400mm...http://www.ffordes.com/product/10072316358444 £11k!!!!!

im a birder and use a 500f4isL so 300f4 would be no use ,i do like the look of the 70 to 400 G lens it is a little slow at f5.6 but if the A77 is really quiet by not haveing a mirrow this could well do as the birds might not hear it as much as my 7d clattering .
very intrested in seeing this camera prodution reviews.

I was able to have a play with a 70-400 not so long ago. It is a beautiful lens! Very heavy, but very responsive af, even on an a200. Lovely and bright image through the lens too, I would say that a grip on the camera body would help as I did find it a little awkward to zoom whilst on the a200. It would be interesting to see the 70-400 compared with the siggy 50-500 os.

Sony do have a 500 f/4 in the pipeline (and a pre-production sample was at shows earlier this year I believe), but it has been 'delayed' due to the Tsunami.
Now planned for mid-2012 - perhaps in time for the Olympics?

The fact that it's not released yet (there have been mock ups for several years) is a source of gripes amongst Sony shooters (even though most can only dream of owning a lens with its expected price tag).

YES i found that it was a silver mockup and yes it will be very expencive ,i see also there are older minolta long lens that fit too .
its all looking very good .
In fact im selling a few bits off to help fund this although i will still want to check the IQ and shutter sound once its out before i would get a a77 etc.
