A lot on Ebay have fungus or fogging issues are they easy to take apart and repair? Or is it best to professionally get it done?

Is it the 15 blade or the 6 blade?

If a lens is advertised with fungus, leave it be.. they're rarely worth the cost of a professional clean. A clean can't be guaranteed as 100%, and may places won't touch a lens with fungus in case it contaminates the work area.

Thanks... did wonder.

Off to some charity shops to see what I may find... plus hopefully my colleague will bring in that box of old lenses who knows :D
 
The only manual lens I have in that focal length is the Yashica ML 28mm f/2.8 - Can't complain about it, sharp enough for me & I still have it to use for wide landscape mainly. I've used Yashica ML 28mm & all 50mm's, M42 Pentacon 50mm, Helios 44M, 44M-4, 44-2, 135/2.8, Jupiter 9 and all without issue on full frame Canon except I had to modify the 44-2 ;)
 
Which Helios was your favourite see conflicting reviews between the 44-2 and 44-4 ?? :D
 
Well Enna Munchen 85-250mm turned out to be a lemon, superb build but optically completely lacking nothing like the flickr images I have seen with the lens.

Return and refund on Ebay I hope as they said it was PIN SHARP!!
 
I much prefer the physical look of the 44M series.

For the actual images produced though the 44-2 wins IMO even though it isn't a nice looking lens [IMO once again] :)

You can get a really good one for <£20
 
Takumar 28mm has come lovely sharp lens but after 15 shots the focus ring has worked loose.

Any one know if it'll be easy to repair?

I can get full refund for the takumar, but half if I keep and fix does anyone know how easy it is to fix focus ring which is also effecting the aperture ring too.

Seller willing to give me half money back if I can fix it myself.

I took a tak 28mm apart a couple of years ago to fix the aperture ring and it was all straightforward. I'd be tempted to try the fix.
