Old photo albums

I have a number of photo albums created by my ancestors (mostly my mother). The photos have been mounted using little squares of double sided sticky tape. Over the years most of these have lost their stickyness so when you open a page of the album, or simply carry it around the house, you get a shower of loose photos. This destroys the link between the photo and its caption (which was written on the backing sheets). What is the best way to restore these? Is there a modern version of these sticky corners that will NOT lose their stickyness? Or is the only way to scan them all and create a digital album?

Thank you - Rowan

Hi Rowan, welcome to TP.

Is there any evidence that these orders don't ever lose their stickyness? I don't want my descendents to find out in 30 years time that they do. That's the situation that I'm now in with the corners my mother used.
