Old prime lens 50mm 1.4 for Nikon D50 - Any Advice??

Hi I will soon buy a Nikon D50.

I would like to get a prime lens 50mm f1.4

However the nikon 50mm f1.4 is quite expensive (£230 on amazon)

I was wondering if I could get an old cheap one with an adaptor.

Any suggestions?

Possibly, but you'd loose auto focus, metering etc.

£230 isnt really expensive for a f/1.4 lens, although its expensive for the non AF-S version. I'm pretty sure you can get a 50mm f/1.4D on ebay for cheaper than that, or there was one on here for a lot less.

Alternatively, get the 50mm f/1.8 for about £80.

i would buy a 35mm f1.8 dx

i use mf lens on a D700 and D3S but you can set those up

dont use ebay go to ffordes or greys of westminster
