Olympus 4/3 lens question

Is there a difference between the lenses designated as being for the EP cameras and the kit lenses that come with the E420 and E450 cameras?

Would the EP 17mm work on an E420?

I'm sure someone will be along with 100% correct info, but to the best of my knowledge you need an adaptor to fit standard 4/3 lenses to M4/3, so would imagine the same applies in reverse... either that or you can't fit them at all!

Micro 4/3rds lenses probably don't fit on "normal" 4/3rds bodies. The reason the micro lenses are smaller is because they get closer to the sensor of the body, so it's possible to put an adapter between a micro 4/3rds body and a normal 4/3rds lens, but probably not the other way around.

I didn't know there were 2 types of 4/3 , I thought there was just the one. I'll read up more on the subject.

You cant put M4/3 lenses on a 4/3 body, but with an adaptor you can put a 4/3 lens on a M4/3 body.


*M4/3 meaning micro 4/3.
