Olympus e-m10 and vintage glass

I have an Olympus e-m10 mk1 and when using it with vintage glass via an adapter the manual focus assists do not automatically work ie when using a full AF lens in MF the auto magnify and focus peaking automatically work but not with vintage manual everything lenses. My Fuji X-T1 used to work perfectly.
I'm sure this must just be a setting that needs switching on or something but for the life of me I can't find it in any menus.
Does anyone know if it can be enabled please?

When I used the em5 with old lenses i remember having the left button on the direction pad set to magnify when manual focusing, I didn't use peaking - I find it less reliable
