Any E1 users about? I love using this camera, been shooting everyday now since Christmas. Considering It's only 6 mp and made in 2003, the image quality is really good.
 
I loved mine - superb colours from it and I was able to print up to A3 size without any issue despite it only being 6mp. Build quality also fantastic

Not much good above ISO 400 though :)
 
I have to agree Dave, but I have found lightroom makes an excellent job of the raw files and noise.
 
Nice images Gaz not tried any of my om lenses on it yet. Could be a start of a 2012 project :)
 
you can get a 50mm f1.8 Zuiko and adapter for a few quid off ebay.

Although four thirds will double it to 100mm due to the crop factor.
 
With a quality Zuiko lens you've got a great camera, and one that can go anywhere due to the bombproof build quality and weathersealing!

Feels really solid, love the cold metal feeling, I have the 14-54mm with it aswell, any idea how good the weather seal is?

They're designed to be really hammered those cameras, the weather sealing really, really works.
 
lol true it does feel like a quality bit of kit, even when the grips attached it feels like it could take anything. I have been out with it in drizzle before and it preformed well, something i would never consider with the E520 or E620. It just gives you a tone of confidence when using.

Notice you have a D300, really like the look of them mate, they look solid as well.
 
^ If I could afford an E-5 with a 12-60mm or a 14-35mm I would probably ditch the D300, but the D300(s) is just one of those amazing cameras around the same price mark as the E-3/E-5 that manage to be ridiculously good with better lenses.

Going from my E-510 to the D300 is a massive jump in physical features and size, but I think an E-3 or an E-5 (even an E-1) are made just as well, if not better.

Iv often thought about switching to Nikon and the the D300/s looks like i may be the one, but im way to involved with Olympus now that i would loose alot of money:shrug:. At the end of the day my kit does everything i need from it even my studio commercial stuff. would love and E5 with the lenses you mentioned now that would be an excellent set up. How do you find the Nikon lenses compared to Olympus?
 
The great thing about Nikkon and Canon lenses is you can get some cheap primes, which is what intertests me. The 90 quid 50mm 1.8 lives on my camera. Olympus have finally 'got' this with the micro 45mm but they missed the boat with 43. I think their utterly uncompromising approach to optics is fantastic but it leads to costly and bulky lenses. From experience of a few L lenses I can say that the best Zuiko lenses are about as perfect as you will ever see in a lens line up.
 
That's interesting I have heard something along those lines before but never from a NIKON user. I think tour right it would be great to have a set of primes for the 43 modles can't see that happening now though.

My trouble that I'm having now is a lens to use in the studio for portraits. I have the 14-54 but everyone is saying you need something around the 90mm mark.
 
Well I have finally given up on four thirds and I've started to sell my equipment, just brought a D300 and a few primes and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Still keeping my micro four thirds stuff though at that is the future of that kind of system and it's just to good to give up, specially as it offer something different than my D300 does.
