Olympus XZ-1 users?

Hi

I started a thread recently looking for opinions on which is best, canon S95 or LX5..... However, after seeing and having a quick play with an Olympus XZ-1 I think I prefer this one now.

Has anybody got one and what do they think? Are there any niggles with it or is it as great as it seems?

Got a rare chance to use mine properly whilst sheparding my elderly parents round Lacock a week ago. I've just added a quick'n'dirty album to my Wiltshire set here. Nothing special and it was on full auto but it seems to have got most things right. The only irritation was that the screen was impossible to see in sunlight but what screen isn't? The VF-2 is high on my purchase list....

Ask to see the lens cap on the demo camera. If you're upgrading from an older compact, then it might surprise you to notice that the lens cap is a push fit. The cap on the LX5 is a more usual clip in type.

It surprised me when I opened the box but didn't put me off in the end and I'm pleased with the results from the xz-1.

Thanks for the advice on that, I'll check it out. The one I've had a play with didn't I've the lens cap on display so I'll ask next time.
 
I have seen a really nice, mint, VF2 for sale on the classified section really well priced :thumbs:
