Yes
Hi guys, I'm planning to put together a new PC based on Intel i5 processor as my 6-year old PC is now showing its age.
I'll be using ASUS P8Z68-V motherboard with on board graphics card.

My question is, will I really need a separate graphics card for image editing with occassional video editing/playback, or will the on board graphics card be up for it?

Cheers:thumbs:

Onboard will be fine. In fact, it's on chip rather than onboard.... If you're going for the Z68 board, get a i5-2500K (as opposed to the i5-2500) as the K part can be very easily overclocked.

cheers, yes I'm getting the unlocked version, though I'm not planning to OC but just a bit of future proofing, though there's the i7 but can't afford it:'( .

OC is really, REALLY easy on these second gen ix parts....
