I could never really get used to GIMP after using photoshop for such a long time. Its is very good for open source software.
You might want to consider ubuntu. I last looked at it a few years ago. My brother installed it on his netbook a few weeks ago and i looked it over. It has came on leaps and bounds since then. Before that i was never a fan, but its looks and preformance has improved greatly.
thanks for replys!, ive been told there is a way to use photoshop within linux using WINE..a microsoft/windows emulator,would also like to try nikon capture
but no info on this at present,could set up XP on a spare hardrive but prefer not to use windows if at all possible lol
