Order messed up

One of my tripods is the velbon C-400 with a PH-248 fluid head which takes a QB-4l quick release plate.

Looking on Amazon at the time I placed the order shown were 2 versions of this QLP, one with a cork top and the other with a rubber top, so I ordered the one with the rubber top advertised as sold both from Camera King.

They sent the one with the cork top which was less expensive so I returned it to Camera King. Consequently they are refunding my money having sent the item back. Amazon have now revised the web page showing just the cork top version. OK i am talking about an item less than £10 but the point is Amazon were misrepresenting the item and I could have persued it under the Trade Descriptions Act.

on this basis I wonder how many other items are misrepresented and from now on I at least will double check anything on the Amazon site before ordering

I'm almost certain that somewhere on Amazon's pages are the characters "E&OE" which may be a cop out but will be enough to protect them. It's possible that the rubber topped plate is no longer available to Camera King or simply that they've sold all the ones they had or that they've decided to stop supplying that model. The obvious answer is to simply source the rubber top one elsewhere or reorder the cheaper cork topped plate...

Nod I contacted Velbon and they don't make the rubber version for that head

Sounds like that "E" on Amazon or Camera King's part then!

Amazon descriptions are awful on most products simply because amazon allow the traders to all make their own changes.
