ordered a d700! Any reason to change my usual bbf focusing method?

finally bit the bullet and got myself a d700 which should be arriving next week. I've been using back button AF-C single point focusing on my d90 but was wondering if with the d700's fancy 51 point focus system etc etc i ought to try different methods. I'm shooting a 5k run in a few weeks and am slightly unsure of how best to approach it.

Also...is the sigma 70-200 worth a punt? Even as a stop gap seeing as i don't think i can justify the prices of the nikon version until next year perhaps.

I would stick with what you are used to, it will respond a lot quicker than your D90 :thumbs:
 
Hi

If you change your method of focusing its a good idea to go out and practise before the event. I think a Nikon 80/200 would be a better alternative than the Sigma. Ask uncle Ken what he thinks.

what's the best type of flash card to get for the 700?
 
thanks guys, will get a couple of 8 gig ones and a reader.

then i need to source a replacement for my 11-16 dx tokina...i'm thinking a 16-35 nikon f/4 should do the job!
