Yes
Both the male and female birds came back to Loch of the Lowes last week, within a few hours of each other. It was the female's earliest ever return. The male bird was within his usual arrival window
We used to make an overnight stop and go and see them on our way north for our holiday, but now we drive up in one day so can't
Loch of the Lowes has a webcam

Dorcha, the female osprey, returned to Loch Arkaig this morming.

This was taken this morning at Loch of Lowes. Sometimes 400mm x 1.4TC and 1.6 crop factor is not enough I guess. Nice to see though.

Missed that one, thanks for posting.

There have been quite a few ‘spare’ Ospreys around over the last couple of days, landing on both nest 2 (Louis & Dorcha) and nest 1

Three Owl strikes on Dorcha (the female Osprey) at Loch Archaig last night. There’s a suggestion it’s territorial behavior. I wonder if too much of the tree has been removed to give a clear camera view but making it easier for the owls?

Wow! Never thought about owl strikes before. Given that Osprey nest on open platforms, maybe this is a common occurrence…

There were several last year (named as Tawny Owl, this time no name) but this was the most violent I’ve seen. One of the commenters thought an egg had been knocked of the nest which I guess could be possible.

Yup, an egg was lost on the third strike. It’s very near the end on this slo-mo version. This is close to hatching :(.
