The new TZ8 will be out in March (Apparently) and it looks to be the same as the TZ6 but with a better lens and manual control (Aperture, shutter and manual priority) but still no Raw. The TZ10 looks to be a replacement for the TZ7 with HD Video.

So is this the replacement for the LX3?

I wouldn't have thought so... TZ stands for their Travel Zoom cameras, wheras the LX1,2 and 3 and more 'luxury' cameras, having large apertures. This slow replacement reminds me of the excellent FZ50...keep the model for a couple of years and then just replace it with the far inferior FZ18.

I love my TZ7, but miss not having manual control, so if this is included in upgrades then this little compact will be perfect :)

After i sold my 1st DSLR i though a compact would do me so i bought the TZ6 and after a trip to France i wished it had manual control, if it had i would have been very happy. I did not know about the LX3 at the time and i should have bought that! I would probably still be happy using just that. All i wanted was a TZ6 with Manual control but then i wanted RAW and a faster lens and now i have a GF1 which is the best of both worlds for me.

I may still get a LX3 to replace the TZ6 if i found one at the right price!
