These birds are clearly doing very well in the suburbs of West London, I am sure there are more this year than last.

These were taken using a D300, Sigma 120-300 and 2xTC to get 600mm and all hand held. I have also had to crop quite a bit ;).

Amazing how they adapt so quickly

Apparantly they are doing very well and becoming more numerous.

Not sure what effect they are having on the local species though:shrug:

They all look a bit bright to me but that could be my eyesight:LOL:

The brightness was due to the late evening sun catching them full on.

Great shots, the first time I saw them in the wild was at Kew. I couldn't believe my eyes!

Yep, there are lot of them in Kew.

Nice captures and indeed they are spreading, for the first time I am seeing them here in the most northerly tips of london, edge of Hertfordshire basically, previously I had only seen them on Hampstead heath.

And no not too bright, as I often see them while out west in Surbiton in the early evenings, the brightness is actually spot on for time of day, they are almost flourescent as the sun starts to drop, just incredible colours (y)

Nice shots. I believe that they are as far north as Sheffield now.
