Paris, location ideas please

Hi due to go to the great city for the first time, only have a couple of days, where is best to shoot, DO NOT want typical tourist tat stuff, more looking for the Paris of Brassai and HCB, will be shooting mostly mono work.

Any suggestions greatly recieved.

I hesitated to reply because the places I'll list are probably quite touristy. I'll try and list the ones I think are least touristy anyway:

Opéra Garnier, Tour Moretti, Basilique du Sacre-Coeur, Champ de Mars, Institut Pont Seine Neuf, Lafayette, Pont Alexandre Iii bridge, Place de la Concorde

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply, i don't know Paris at all, so all suggestions are welcome, i will do some searching on your suggestions.

Spend a day exploring the Latin Quarter.

Cross to the other side of the river at Notre Dame and follow your nose until you end up at the Jardin du Luxembourg and then wander round there for a couple of hours.

Latin Quarter was very good, spent a couple of days almost there when I was in Paris last month.

You say "non-touristy" I'm not sure such a thing exists in Paris!
