Just a heads up.

This is quite a good one and not the usual badly spelled fill in the blanks style phishing email.

Got one email the other day saying there was a dispute on a transaction. The item wasn't anything to do with me so I just ignored it and didn't pay too much attention.

Just got a follow up email from the same address - Services@support.com

PayPal, an eBay Company

I would never follow an email link to anything financial so I checked my paypal account and of course there was no such message there.

It's an obvious scam when you spend just a second to look at it but at first the emails do look very genuine.

Out of the many millions out there with Ebay/Paypal accounts there must be quite a few drop their guard and get caught out.
My ebay account was once compromised by via a link within the phoney sellers auction page to see "further details" of the item he was selling, only it did not give any further details:cautious:, thought nothing more until later I went to my account and noticed literally thousands of pounds worth of gear being listed and continually being added as I sat there
I went on the Ebay forum and was quickly informed on what to do in the circumstances and it was sorted out via live contact, but not before going through a few anxious moments.

Nice heads up.

Fortunately, Gmail puts all these in my Spam folder so I probably miss alot of these though I did look through the other day and saw this one and I did have to think about it! Like you, I check my Paypal account just to be certain!

These guys are getting better with their wording aren't they?

Had one very similar and was intrigued. I always mouse over the link to see where it goes and then log into eBay normally to check.

"your account may have been hijacked by a third party without your authorization."

So it's ok as long as they have your authorisation?

Anybody falling for such ridiculous scams deserves getting fleeced!
