Just a quick one for anyone that may have an answer. I have recently had 2 problems with my pc (not related i dont know.)

The first one.

every once in a while my keyboard goes stupid. For example if i press the "h" key another key will appear on the screen. if i continuously press the h key or any other key for that matter my screen will fill with letters in the qwerty keyboard and numeric 1234567890 order. this will repeat and repeat for about 5 minutes then will reset to normal

The second one

Earlier on my pc kept resetting for no appaerent reason. in windows and even in dos before it gets to the safe, safe with networking and normal start up options. In the end i kept the pc off after it resetting about 10 times and left it. I am assuming it may be overheating as the fan was quite loud. Its now very quiet and i havent had any sudden resets since then. so how can i stop this from happening?

If you suspect an overheating problem, it could be that the heatsink(s) and fan(s) are clogged with dust.

You have a some options:

1) Suck out the muck with a vacuum cleaner (there are "risks" with this though as static can build up on the vacuum and this can be passed to the components in your PC, and this may damage them. (I've done this a lot and never had an issue however)
2) Blow it out with some compressed air.
3) Take the fan(s), heatsink(s) off and clean them.

:)

There's more than one fan in your pc, check to see if one of them has stopped working, most likely the cpu heatsink fan or the power supply fan. Clean as Outlore says or replace as neccessary.

As for the keyboard, replace it and see if the problem goes away, you can buy a keyboard for less than a fiver in a supermarket. If the problem stays, I have no idea how to fix that.
