Pentax 18-250

Hi just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this lens, or any results of one? My dad uses pentax and he has been talking about this lens. Does it compare well with the likes of the sigmas and tamrons?

It's a pretty good lens considering the focal length.

It is actually a rebadged Tamron 18-250mm though so if he can get one of those cheaper it will do just as well.

... or to put it another way, given it's very large zoom range and lowish price, it is not a top rank lens.

thanks for the replys, I think what made him look was the fact he can't carry a lot of stuff around, so wanting a walkabout lens with a decent range, and quality.
