Yes
So is anyone going to try and capture this meteor shower, I was out last night/this morning with fellow TPer TheDodo (Darrell) and we saw dozens of meteor's but other than of awful attempt by me were unable to get any photo's.

It looks like the shower will be for a couple of weeks but the peak is expected to be this Saturday 13th but if last night/this morning was anything to go by there will be quite a bit of activity

No worries happy to be of service the good news is we have a few nights to try and be successful

Hopefully it will clear tomorrow :)

thanks for the reminder.. I thought this was earlier in the year so now I am glad I haven't missed it... I may give it a try if the weather clears some night :D

Although the moon will be lowish in the sky on the 13th it will be a full moon, so it could make photography difficult, but thanks for the info; I tend to forget astronomical events in the summer.

Sounds interesting :) What is the best time for viewing? A quick google suggests just before dawn but wondered if you had any luck a bit earlier than that prefereably

Well I was out on Sunday night between 11:30pm till 2am Monday morning and saw about 60 meteors so that seems promising considering that the peak is supposed to be this weekend  as has been pointed out the new moon may make things tricky

Ahh that sounds manageable  I'm just lazy haha. Would be brilliant to see them and a bonus to capture them on camera

Best of luck will be out after I finish tomorrow for a couple of hours

We've had nothing but rain and heavy skies for a week now, so it's not looking very promising. Thanks for posting this though, might get lucky!

OK for the noobs. How should we be setting up a shot.

I'm assuming its a long shutter speed and hope to capture some meteors. Or is it click away time.

I'm not going to suggest to be an expert on this one as I am not, but my technique for this evening is going to be 30 second exposures @ f/4, ISO400 and set my trigger in the locked position and take a couple of hours worth of 30 second exposures :D

Hope this helps :D
