This is the one I got with my D3000, I was wondering can I get a petal hood for it, I think its a 52mm.

If so where could I get one from, im not sure If I can get one though :'(

You're probably going to be limited to Ebay, and it would almost certainly be a screw in type hood. I am not sure that Nikon ever made a petal hood for the 18-55.

They do offer the HB-33 and HB-35 hoods, but they are not petal hoods.

I got one off ebay for my 18-55mm lens for the D3000 - works okay but you do get vignetting near the 18mm end....

Hi, You can get a 52mm (which the 18-55 is) petal lens hood from Premier Ink & Photographic for £6.99. (01926 339977) but as per the previous reply there is vignetting ai the 18mm end. If you are unsure what that means it's the cutting off of the corners.

"HB-45, included in Japan, but not in the USA."

HB-45 on Amazon UK "here"

Think that they're after the petal/flower shape lens hood... Which would be like one poster stated "a screw" thread fitment from ebay...

I was just gonna say the kit lens desnt have the same fitment as my 55-200 or 35mm prime which are both 52mm dia. Is there a screw type available?
Phil

According to Nikon its a 52mm fit - try E-bay 52mm lens hood - screw fit..

Ooo, that looks canny and worth a punt. My only concern is how do you get it tight but horizontal aswell.....
Edit, ignore that as ive just looked in more detail and noticed the clamp section. Ordering now. Cheers!
