Hi all

I put a post up a couple of days ago

here

http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=197506

The responses at the time seemed great but on further looking into them weren't quite right so I'm hoping someone else on here might have some ideas

A group of us have a common interest in photography recently started to get together every 6 weeks to share and discuss images, do "home work" projects, teach each other techniques etc. It's only a small group of 8 with different levels of ability and experience but all have in common the love of photography.

We are looking for somewhere we can post our images and leave comments and advice on each others images in-between meeting maybe leave details of the next meetings, and have some galleries. Generally trying to try to build a more community feel in the group.

Does anyone on here know of the best place to do this with out setting up our own website. The place we obviously thought was Facebook, but not everyone in the group was happy using Facebook.

that was suggested looked perfect and I even set one up. but it was then I realised that it seems that only 1 person can generate postings so therefore it is no use as a group thing

Thanks for your help in advance :help:

plus forgot to mention the all important fact that we would like it not to have to pay for it :)

Can't you just set up a flickr group?

Or host the images where you like and use wordpress.com to manage the postings - just set it up as private and only give ids to your group members.

Set up a Flickr group.

How about your own Forum type thing???? There are several free versions (proboards.com comes to mind), and a lot have the ability to add photo albums too?? or possibly a website based on Joomla CMS, great way of getting a site, easy to maintain, each person has their own login, blah blah blah???

totally agree with flickr comments ♠ it was the first thing i thought of when i read the op, a private group with private pics with the forum aspect too sounds perfect

Thanks all for your help. I didn't realise that flickr did what you say it does I'll try and set a private group up

:thankyou:
