Hi had a friend phone me tonight asking for advice about photographing rooms, he does these HIPS reports and a firm wants him to photograph the rooms after he has done said report. They have said they can supply camera and tripod for around £2000 or he can supply his own so what will be the best lens to photograph the room and wil he get the whole room in one go or will it require two photos stiched together.
any advice thanks

Med range DSLR and Sigma 10 - 20mm wideangle.

K10d and above mentioned lens, room is 20ft by 14ft around average I think.

I know the question's already been answered, but thought I'd chip in a little anyway...

The wide angle lens is probably the better bet, along with a good-ish tripod. It might be worth looking at exposure bracketing for some HDR. Stitching of multiple photos might be a little difficult indoors, as any parallax errors would be quite noticeable, considering how close everything is.

WOW, Sbowler, I want a room like that :D

Dude, just what I was thinking, I don't have money for a telly like that after blowing my cheddar on camera kit.

I wasn't aware that having your rooms photographed was a requirement of these HIPs. Am I wrong?

Cheddar = cash, moolah, clams, benjamins, lolly, bucks, beer tokens, readies

Blowing= erm, spending.
