Can anyone recommend a one day beginner level photography course in London. It would be a birthday present for my bro who is just starting out with an SLR - Nikon 5500 I think.

Have a search for London Institute of Photography. They do a whole range of courses from beginner level onwards.
I haven't personally used them but they do get some decent reviews.
