Why can't I convert some of my TIFF's into JPG's in Photoshop CS2?

It seems to be only the TIFF's that were converted from RAW's from my Canon 40D. I click on "save as", then the when the FORMAT drop down list appears, there is no option for JPEG.

Is there another way of doing it?

Use the "Save for Web and Devices" option in the file menu, although that's in CS3 should be the same in CS2.
 
Do you have them in 16 bit? if you go Mode and change them to 8 bit... then jpg will appear in the dropdown box when saving.
 
or you could type in .jpeg at the end of the msg box? :)
 
You have to change the tiff from 16bit to 8bit before jpeg appears in the dropdown ;)
