Hi guys,

Just bought this from FITP and it isn't working.

I've put batteries in and connected it to the flash. The indicator lights flash (which the manual tells me means standby) - they don't come on solidly (indicating charging) at all even after the flash does a full power pop.

I've tried two different sets of 8 batteries (one Eneloop type, one standard rechargeable) and a 580exII and a 550ex. I'm out of ideas. Is it just a freak not working unit, or is there something else I could check?

(Just to say this is not to cast any criticism of FITP - he can't be blamed if it isn't working, everything else I've bought from him previously has. Just want to get it working for my wedding tomorrow if possible)

I've pm-ed him but no response! I'm sure he'll be happy to sort out exchange/refund, but if I can get it working for tomorrow that would be perfect! (this was purchased as a quick replacement for a damaged equivalent)

Thanks a bit of a knacker. I got mine from FITP about 5 month ago and absolutely love mine on my 580EXII. It should have just worked out of the box so it looks like you picked up a dud. :(

Hope FITP gets it sorted for you though mate.

As I say - not in any way doubting FITP - just hoping that someone had some trick to get it working for tomorrow!

Unfortunately not mate, mine was more or less plug and play with 7dayshop batteries. Hope you get it sorted though.

You have got a set of batteries in the flash aswel havn't you? I'm sure I read you need to power the flash controls and screen with batteries in the flash and the battery pack powers the capacitors.

Yep - and I've tried both custom settings (charge from both sources or just the external) but to no avail!

Sorry to hear that, Mark :( Hopefully someone who has a Canon version can offer advice, however if you can't get it to work then I'll obviously give you a full refund

Drop me a pm and let me know how you get on...

Just to doublecheck you do have batteries in both flash and battery pack?

It was a genuine Canon one which was stood on. (Disappointed in the build quality for the price, but then I got it cheaper second hand so not too annoyed.)

No success as yet getting the pixel one to work. I'll try again this afternoon.
