Just got a PK-EF adapter to use from old pentax K manual lenses on my 40D, but I've hit a snag.
The way the adapter fits the lens in, a small corner of metal inside the camera body is catching on the aperture leaver of the lenses, holding the aperture wide open so I can't stop them down. (this is not a case of sticky aperture, when the lens is not mounted, or on extension tubes instead of straight onto the body, the aperture works fine)
Is this issue intrinsic to all PK-EF adapters? if the lens was mounted, say, 30degrees further anticlockwise, the leaver wouldn't catch and it would work fine, so have I just stumbled on a poorly designed adapter?
Is it possible to remove the aperture leaver without risking damaging the lens? If the aperture leaver wasn't there, it would work fine as there would be nothing to stop the lens being at the set aperture.
